At Ledaine Trading we believe in being a responsible corporate citizen and giving back to the communities we operate in. We believe that when you give a child a strong foundation in their early developmental stages, you empower them to a better future.
In our focus on early childhood development we have worked closely with The SOS children’s village which is situated four kilometres from our factory operations in the Grange area of Pietermaritzburg, on various projects which have been a great honor to our organisation.
We have chosen to partner with this particular organisation because it is aligned with our values responsible corporate governance. The SOS children’s foundation specialises in providing care to vulnerable children without parental care or at risk of losing their parental care. The SOS children’s villages are designed as safe spaces for children to learn and grow into their full potential.
At Ledaine our focus for projects have been centred around the donation of clothing for infants and babies. We believe that meeting this very basic necessity supports the SOS children’s village to be able to focus on other aspects of creating safe spaces for the children.
Because we believe in casting our net wide, at Ledaine Trading we also run mini- social responsibility efforts with other organisations, whilst still maintaining our focus on early childhood development. This includes organisations like Wings of inspiration, The Manger Care Center and the Victoria Children’s Home, to name a few.
The African proverb “it takes a village to raise a child” is the golden thread that links all of our initiatives at Ledaine appropriately, as we work closely with our staff members in identifying beneficiaries for all social initiatives which is something unique that we are proud of. We only hope to be able to realise this goal, where we all lend a hand to uplift each other.
